Inca Religion
The Inca were a very religious group, who worshiped over 2,000 gods.
INTIAlso known as APU-PUNCHAU
( religion ) The Inca believed in many gods, but their main god, named Inti, was the god of the sun. Because of that, they are sometimes called the "children of the sun".They also believed in reincarnation, and those who died and stayed true to the Incan Moral Code (do not lie, do not steal, do not be lazy) went to live in the warmth of the sun, while the others were left in the cold.
AXOMAMMAAlso known as ACSUMAMA, AJOMAMA
My favorite of all the.... I'm not sure how many there are..., though, has to be Axomamma ( also known as Acsumama, and Ajomama ). Axomamma is my favorite because....well, can you guess? That's right. She's the Goddess of Potatoes (She's also a "firm favorite" at the Godchecker H.Q. which is the website I learned about her from. Here's the link. http://www.godchecker.com/pantheon/incan-mythology.php?deity=axomamma). Well, I really couldn't find any info since Wikipedia just said she was the potato goddess. No info at all. But, since she IS the goddess of potatoes, I'll keep looking. For now, though, here's a picture of a potato.
VIRACOCHAAlso known as APU-QUN-TIQSI-WIRAQUTRA, WIRAQUTRA, HUIRACOCHA
My second favorite god is Viracocha (Also known as APU-QUN-TIQSI-WIRAQUTRA, WIRAQUTRA, and HUIRACOCHA), because he's the Supreme god. He's the one who created all things. Without him, there would be nothing. At first, he made the world. No sun, no moon, no light. Just the earth with giant beings on it. Viracocha had decreed a Rule Which Must be Obeyed, but it apparently wasn't as the giants were pretty soon wiped out by a giant vengeful storm. Wanting to try again, he traveled to Lake Titicaca, where he commanded the Sun and Moon to rise out of the lake. From there, he made Humans, Version 2.0 He then ran down the road to Tiwanaku, and wrote down the name of every tribe on a stone there. He is said to visit often, and one day if we are all to wicked, Viracocha will return, and his tears will cause a flood of total destruction.
SUPAI
Supai is the Inca God of death. A god of huge greed. The Incas sacrificed over a hundred children a year to Supai and he still wouldn't leave them alone. There is little info known about him, but in my opinion, he's a complete and utter jerk.
